Retreat

Format and Goals

The goal of this retreat is to discuss the future of BCIs with a focus on industrial applications and end users. The BNCI Horizon 2020 consortium will present ideas and concepts for the roadmap, and participants will have the opportunity to provide input, feedback, and comments through keynote talks, targeted discussions, and workshops.

To help you prepare for the retreat, please study the six BCI application scenarios described in our BCI Basics article. We will be splitting up in parallel focus sessions dedicated to each of these scenarios. Please choose one scenario for each parallel session block which interests you most (see below for the agenda).

Location

The BNCI Horizon 2020 Retreat is set for 24–26 March 2014 in Hallstatt, Austria, which lies in the heart of the UNESCO world heritage region Hallstatt-Dachstein Salzkammergut. The closest airport is Salzburg Airport. From there, we recommend that you book a seat on the SMS airport shuttle service.

We will meet in the congress center, which is close to the center of the town.
